Ultrasonic Diffusers

When using an ultrasonic diffuser, add 3-10 drops of your essential oil blend to the water reservoir, depending on the size of your room and your sensitivity preferences. For small rooms (under 100 square feet), 3-5 drops is usually sufficient. Medium rooms (100-300 square feet) work well with 5-8 drops, while larger spaces may need 8-10 drops.

It's important to clean your diffuser regularly to prevent oil buildup and maintain optimal performance. After each use, empty any remaining water and wipe the reservoir with a soft cloth. Weekly deep cleaning with white vinegar helps remove any residue.

Ceramic Rings and Passive Diffusion

Ceramic Rings

Ceramic rings are porous clay accessories that absorb essential oils and release their aroma slowly over time. Simply add a few drops of oil to the ring and place it near a heat source or in a well-ventilated area. Perfect for subtle, continuous fragrance.

Reed Diffusers

To use a personal inhaler, add 10-15 drops of your essential oil blend to the wick, then insert it into the tube. When you need a moment of calm or focus, simply remove the cap and take a few deep breaths through the inhaler.

Personal inhalers are perfect for travel, work, or any situation where you want the benefits of aromatherapy without diffusing into a shared space. They're discrete, mess-free, and can last for weeks with regular use.

Room Sprays

Room sprays offer a quick and easy way to refresh your space with your favorite essential oil blends. To create your own room spray, combine 20-30 drops of your essential oil blend with 2 ounces of distilled water and 1 teaspoon of witch hazel or vodka (as an emulsifier) in a spray bottle.

Shake well before each use, as the oils and water will separate. Spray into the air, avoiding direct contact with furniture or fabrics that might be sensitive to oils. Room sprays are great for quick refreshes, but the scent typically doesn't last as long as diffusion methods.

For best results, use glass spray bottles rather than plastic, as essential oils can degrade plastic over time. Store your room spray in a cool, dark place and use it within 2-3 months.

Choosing the Right Method for Your Space

Small Rooms

For bedrooms, bathrooms, or small offices (under 150 square feet), ultrasonic diffusers or ceramic rings work beautifully. Use fewer drops to avoid overwhelming the space.

Large Open Areas

Living rooms, open-plan spaces, or large offices benefit from ultrasonic diffusers with larger water reservoirs. You may need multiple diffusers or higher drop counts for effective coverage.

On-the-Go

Personal inhalers and small room sprays are perfect for travel, work, or any situation where you need portable aromatherapy without affecting others.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures your diffusion equipment continues to work effectively and safely. For ultrasonic diffusers, regular cleaning prevents oil buildup that can affect performance and potentially cause malfunctions.

After each use, empty the water reservoir and wipe it clean. Weekly, fill the reservoir halfway with white vinegar, let it run for 5-10 minutes, then empty and rinse thoroughly. This removes any lingering oil residue.

For ceramic rings and clay pendants, simply wipe with a clean, dry cloth after use. If they become saturated with old oils, you can gently heat them (in sunlight or near a warm surface) to help release the old fragrance before adding new oils.
